Donation to Viharamahadevi Orphange - Biygama, Sri Lanka

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who donated to our fundraiser in the past couple of days. From the funds collected, we donated various essential items to the Viharamahadevi Girls’ Orphanage in Biyagama, Sri Lanka. As of today, we have received $887.00 and used around $400 (55 000 Sri Lankan rupees) to buy items for the orphanage, for the first phase of our donation. We were able to speak with the head of the orphanage, Miss K. P. Kumarasinghe, (whom we have worked with before) and she thanked us for our efforts and was very appreciative of our past and present donations.

We would like to thank Sarath Allewela for buying the items and distributing them on behalf of us, which was especially difficult during the curfew.

We are continuing to accept donations for Phase 2 of our fundraiser. In Phase 2 we hope to use the remainder of the funds to purchase essentials for another orphanage, possibly in a more rural area.
